Our Founder - Dr Yelena Neal
Born from a passion for health and wellness, Yelena started ROOTD as a solution to a toxic problem in the fitness industry.
The majority of fitness products, from polyester clothes to water bottles, are synthesised from harmful petrochemicals.
"I was fed up of industries hiding the true impacts of our products - from carcinogens, to forever chemicals and micro-plastics."
We decided to tackle the most toxic problem first - exercise mats.
We believe in total wellness - not only for our minds and bodies, but for the planet around us and for the generations to come.
Our Values & Mission
We are a natural and sustainable fitness movement. Our mission is to improve the well-being of people and the planet while inspiring a community of eco-conscious individuals.
We are dedicated to creating sustainable fitness gear and clothing by primarily using natural materials, promoting environmental health, and fostering social responsibility.
Love Our Bodies
"Having struggled with weight loss for many years, I learned to love my body and the love process. I found peace in the outdoors."
We aim to derive our materials from nature wherever possible. We are constantly looking for new ways to improve our materials to reduce the impact of artificial products on the body and the planet.
Love Our Planet
Fighting the fast paced consumer culture, we believe in slowing down and reconnecting with nature's gifts.
The complete life-cycle of our products is kind to nature, for now and for years to come.
Our primary focus is sustainability. We aim for our products and packaging to be recyclable, bio-degradable and leave no nasty by-products leeching in to the environment.
Love Giving Back
We are proudly partnered with B1G1. We make an impact with every purchase to give back to communities and the planet.
Only 9% of plastic produced is recycled. Less than 50% of Indonesian waste goes to legal landfills, the rest is burned or dumped in the sea.
With every mat you purchase, we will donate 1 brick made from recycled plastic waste to build schools.
Following devastating earthquakes in Indonesia, there are still over 200 schools that need to be rebuilt, and your support will go towards providing the recycled plastic blocks required to build earthquake resistant Block Schools.
